Halloween Fun Fact #23

Much later down the time line of the history of Halloween, a Christian feast day dedicated to the Virgin Mary and the martyrs was moved to November 1st from May 13th by the Roman Catholic Church in 835 AD in order to mark the dedication of the All Saints Chapel in Rome- establishing November 1st as 'All Saints Day' and October 31st as "All Hallow Even", eventually "All Hallow's Eve", "Hallowe'en", and then - "Halloween".
